A Greener Tomorrow program grant is giving even more young girls in Sanikiluaq, NU the opportunity to play hockey.

The Jumpstart Sanikiluaq Girls’ Hockey League for girls age 11 to 18 has been running for two years. Funds from the grant will be used to purchase new jerseys and equipment, and to expand the program to include other age groups.

“These funds will have a huge impact on the community,” says Michael Rowan, the league’s Senior Administrative Officer. “The grant will help us continue to provide a safe and fun environment for girls to be active, learn collaborative skills and build self-confidence.”
