Employees of the Northern store pharmacy in Portage La Loche, SK showed their support of Jordan’s Principle by bringing stuffed bears to work on Bear Witness Day, along with employees from across the company.

Jordan’s Principle aims to ensure First Nations children across Canada can access public services in a way that is considerate of their cultural needs and historical disadvantages.

The North West Company, which recently lost their Northern grocery store in Portage La Loche due to a fire, converted their general merchandise Northern store into a replacement grocery store within a matter of days, to ensure local families continued to have access to groceries. Participating in Bear Witness Day was a symbol of the company’s continued dedication to ensuring community members are provided with the health products and services that they need.
