Star Icon campaign supports communities over the holidays

Chisassibi’s Northern is off to a great start

Community programs are getting a boost from the Healthy Horizons Foundation’s Star Icon campaign this holiday season.

The campaign that sells paper stars to customers making a donation, then displays the stars in the store, has returned this year as one of the foundation’s permanent fundraisers. Since the start of the HHF Star program, Healthy Horizons has been able to grant over $150,000 of support to northern communities. 100% of funds raised go directly back into the communities to support youth programs that promote nutrition, education, and active living.

Some programs that have received the help of Healthy Horizons in the past include Summer Reading Camps in in Arviat and Taloyoak, a Swim Program in Iqaluit, and Nutritional Literacy Classes in Rankin Inlet.
